Directions and Parking on Campus
Tuesday, November 13 through Thursday, November 15, 2007

University Parking Garage will be available for Inaugural Week Activities only on Tuesday, Nov. 13; Wednesday, Nov. 14; and Thursday, Nov. 15. For parking on Friday, Nov. 16, see “Inauguration Day Parking and Directions.”

Parking is extremely limited on The George Washington University Foggy Bottom Campus.
Inaugural participants and guests are encouraged to take Metro (www.wmata.com) or taxis.
GW is located at the Foggy Bottom/GWU Metro Station (Orange and Blue lines).

Walking: from the Foggy Bottom/GWU Metro Station to the Charles E. Smith Center, walk
straight from the escalator to I (Eye) Street, NW.Walk one block and turn right onto 22nd
Street. The Charles E. Smith Center is on the corner of 22nd and G streets.

On-Campus Parking (Tuesday, Nov. 13–Thursday, Nov. 15)
The University Parking Garage is located at 2211 H Street, NW, entrance on I (“Eye”) Street between 22nd and 23rd streets. Please arrive early to allow time for parking.

Driving Directions to University Parking Garage

From North
Interstate 95 south to Interstate 495 (Capital Beltway) toward Silver Spring/Northern Virginia.
Take exit 33, heading south on Connecticut Avenue for about nine miles. Turn right onto
Florida Avenue (just past the Washington Hilton) and turn left immediately onto 21st Street.
Turn right on I Street. The visitor entrance to the parking garage is on the left between 22nd and 23rd streets.

From Northwest
Interstate 270 to Interstate 495 (Capital Beltway) toward Silver Spring.Take exit 33, heading south
on Connecticut Avenue for about nine miles. Follow directions as given in “From North.”

From West
Interstate 66 and Route 50 both connect with the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge. Cross the bridge
and exit left at E Street, then again at Virginia Avenue. Bear left, following signs for 23rd Street.
Turn right on 23rd Street and continue a few blocks to campus.Turn right on I Street.The visitor
entrance to the parking garage is on your right between 22nd and 23rd streets.

From South
Interstate 95 to Interstate 395,Arlington Memorial Bridge exit.Cross the bridge and bear left at
the Lincoln Memorial.Turn left onto 23rd Street and follow directions as given in “From West.”
