Good morning, faculty and staff and honored guests of the George Washington University. My name is Thelma Spriggs, and I have been an employee of the University for 35 years, so I really feel like the George Washington University is my professional home. I am proud to represent the more than 8,970 staff members of the George Washington University at today’s inauguration.

The staff of GW are a caring group of individuals who are committed to supporting excellence in student achievement. The GW staff do everything from caring of the campus buildings, to handling campus security, to supervising the campus parking lots. We look forward to a positive relationship with President Knapp in the years ahead, an we look forward to bringing President Knapp and his wife a bouquet of roses from our prize-winning garden when they move into their new home on campus this year.
